in loving memory of friends and partners in the gospel

Aileen Coleman (1930–2025) was a courageous missionary nurse and lifelong servant of Jesus Christ whose ministry transformed lives across the Middle East. Born in Australia, Aileen answered God’s call as a young woman and devoted more than 70 years to one of the world’s most challenging mission fields.

Serving among the nomadic Bedouin tribes of Jordan, Aileen co‑founded the Annoor Sanatorium for Chest Diseases in Mafraq, where she helped combat tuberculosis while faithfully sharing the hope of the Gospel. Known for her cultural humility, perseverance, and deep compassion, she embraced the Bedouin people and earned their trust, respect, and affection.

Aileen’s obedience bore fruit known fully only to Heaven, yet her influence was profound—touching patients, orphans, fellow missionaries, and Christian leaders around the world. Widely respected for her service, she received international honors, including the Order of Australia, while remaining steadfastly humble and Christ‑centered.

Her legacy is one of fearless faith, sacrificial love, and unwavering commitment to seeking “the one lost sheep,” for the glory of God.

James Biklen Pendleton (1955–2025) was a devoted follower of Christ, loving husband, father, and grandfather. Raised on a family farm in Lawrence, Kansas, Jim developed an early love for agriculture that shaped both his education and career. He studied at the University of Kansas and Kansas State University, earning degrees in agricultural economics and international agricultural development.

Jim served in missions with Sudan Interior Mission in Nigeria, working among Fulani farmers and herdsmen. He later spent 30 years as an investment professional in the agricultural sector before answering a renewed call to ministry as Director of Global Missions at First Evangelical Church of Memphis, where he served faithfully for more than eight years.

Known for his deep faith, generous spirit, and genuine care for others, Jim leaves behind a lasting legacy of service and love. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children and grandchildren, and a wide community of family, friends, and fellow believers.

Darrell Gray Sanders (1938-2025) was born in Morehead City, North Carolina, and faithfully walked with the Lord throughout a life devoted to service. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force, where he also married his sweetheart, Vollie. Together they built a family and answered God’s call to ministry.

Darrell came to know Jesus Christ through friends who shared the Gospel, and from that moment forward, his life was marked by a passion for discipleship and evangelism. He served with The Navigators for over 30 years, ministering to students, military personnel, and families across Florida, Memphis, California, and Colorado Springs. Many came to know Christ and learned to walk faithfully with Him through Darrell’s teaching and leadership.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and servant of the Lord, Darrell left a legacy of faith, generosity, and obedience. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Vollie, their children, grandchildren, and all whose lives were touched by his faithful witness.
